Atrial Fibrillation Study Published!

The Martin and Samee labs are very excited to share that our collaborative work in unveiling the “networks of transcriptional and signaling interactions linked to arrhythmia and stroke risk in the pulmonary vein and left atrium“ has been newly published! In the upcoming issue of JCI insight, we report multiomic profiling of the left atrium (LA) and pulmonary vein (PV) at the single nuclei resolution in mice. In these efforts, we elucidated chromatin accessibility and transcriptomic features of the LA and PV in the contexts of homeostasis and atrial fibrillation predisposition. Additionally, this work further defined both cell-autonomous and non-autonomous roles of the AF-associated factor Pitx2. Altogether, these studies provide a novel and high-resolution basis for the identification of AF-predisposition in the clinic. For more information on this exciting work, please click here.
