Award News!

We're happy to announce that Dr. Rich Li, a postdoctoral fellow in our lab, was selected as a finalist for the ISHR-NAS Young Investigator Competition Awards (YICA)! Rich has been doing incredible work in the cardiac renewal field, and his selection as a finalist reflects his hard work and the impact of his research.

Last month, Dr. Li attended The XlIII North American Society Annual Meeting in Long Beach, California, where he presented his exciting and newly published work on cellular microenvironment changes during cardiac renewal. His talk, "Yap Induces a Neonatal-like Pro-Renewal Niche in the Adult Heart," revealed how Yap activation in the heart can create an environment conducive to cardiac regeneration, mimicking the regenerative conditions found in neonatal hearts. This research provides critical insights into how we can innovate heart repair and regeneration strategies in humans.

The ISHR-NAS meeting, hosted by The UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, is a prestigious event that brings together leading researchers and young investigators in the cardiac field. Being selected as a finalist for the YICA is a significant achievement, and we are incredibly proud of Rich for this recognition. Check out their website for more information about the ISHR-NAS meeting and the Young Investigator Competition Awards.

Congratulations, Rich, on this well-deserved honor!
