Our Postdocs Shine at ICDAR 2024!

We're thrilled to celebrate our very own postdoctoral fellows, Drs. Jeff Steimle and Rich Li, who recently presented their research at the prestigious 15th International Cardiovascular Development Anatomy and Regeneration (ICDAR) held in Prague, Czech Republic! ICDAR is a premier venue for researchers in the heart field to discuss various heart-related topics, bringing together experts from around the globe. Drs. Steimle and Li's selection to present their work at this esteemed conference speaks to their talent and the importance of their work.

Dr. Steimle delighted the audience with his talk titled "Left-right differences in Wnt inhibition underlie a pro-fibrotic microenvironment and atrial fibrillation predisposition for Pitx2 deficiency." His research delves into the fascinating world of heart development and function, exploring how imbalances in a crucial signaling pathway can contribute to atrial fibrillation, a common heart rhythm disorder.

Dr. Li presented his published work from this year, "YAP Induces a Neonatal-Like Pro-Renewal Niche in the Adult Heart." This exciting research explores the potential of a specific protein, YAP, to regenerate damaged heart tissue by mimicking the remarkable healing abilities of the neonatal heart.

Dr. Steimle and Li's presentations were well-received by the conference attendees, sparking discussions and generating significant interest in their research. We are incredibly proud of them for their outstanding contributions to the cardiovascular research field.

We look forward to seeing their future accomplishments as they push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation! For more details about their presentations, visit the ICDAR website.
